Lucas Cavallin, MD, PhD, FAAD

Biography

Dr. Lucas Cavallin Dr. Lucas Cavallin is a Board-Certified Dermatologist specializing in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. He received his undergraduate degree in Biology with top honors from the National University of Cordoba, Argentina. Thereafter, he obtained his Ph.D. degree in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Miami, Florida and then his medical degree (MD) from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. While in medical school, Dr. Cavallin was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society for his high academic achievements and compassionate care of patients.

Dr. Cavallin also won numerous awards during medical and graduate schools, including 1st Place in the Clinical Research Poster Award by the Wound Healing Society, the Alving Award given to the medical student with the most outstanding research achievements, and 1st Place in the Basic/Translational Science Award by the UM/Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Dr. Cavallin did his internal medicine internship at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital where he was chosen as the Preliminary Intern of the Year for excellence in internal medicine and patient care.

Dr. Cavallin then completed his dermatology residency training at the University of Pennsylvania, a top ranked dermatology residency program in the country. During his time at the University of Pennsylvania, he trained with world leaders in skin cancer screening and treatment, acne, psoriasis, eczema, mole check and removal, dermatologic surgery, pediatric dermatology, and cosmetic dermatology.

Dr. Cavallin is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), and the American Medical Association (AMA). He has extensive experience in general dermatology, medical dermatology, skin cancer detection and treatment, dermatologic surgery, cosmetic dermatology, pediatric dermatology, and dermatological research. He has authored numerous publications in high impact journals, including Cancer Cell, the Journal of Experimental Medicine, the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Cell Host & Microbe, and the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, among others.

Dr. Cavallin is fluent in both English and Spanish. In his spare time, he enjoys running, playing tennis and basketball, traveling, and, most of all, spending time with his wife and twins. He looks forward to continuing to serve and care for patients in the North Dallas area.
